Lac-Saint-Jean Nautical Station,

With an area covering more than 1, 000 km2 and 210 km of shoreline, Lake St-Jean is an impressive inland sea offering fantastic scenery, beautiful tributary rivers and sandy beaches that will take your breath away. As a matter of fact, this lake is so large that you can’t see the opposite shore from wherever you are most of the time. With its beautiful beaches and rivers the Lac-Saint-Jean allows the population to enjoy different water-related activities. Canoe, kayak, sailboat trips, kite and stand up paddle are only a few. This region also has the highest catch limit in Quebec (ten instead of six) and is considered to be a paradise for fisherman.

  • Just relax on some beach spot along its 42 km long of powdery sand
  • Get your heartbeat up rafting on the Mistassibi River and its Hawaiian size waves, a top ten in North America
  • Fly fishing for Ouananiche (fresh water salmon) is not to be missed on one the rivers feeding Lake St-Jean
  • Explore the islands of Alma and Saint-Gédéon by sea kayak
  • Take a river canoe trip following the ancient traces of the Ilnus
  • Make the most out of the wind for great kite surfing from the superb beaches of Saint-Gédéon
  • Experience sailing and get a unique perspective on the lake and breathtaking scenery
